QUALITY HOLLAND LOPS AND MINI PLUSH LOPS
We are a small, family run rabbitry. Each baby is handled and socialized from day one. The goal for each baby is to be a well-adjusted family member that brings joy for many years to come. We spend the time to educate new bunny owners and are happy to provide a wealth of information to help you be a successful rabbit caretaker.
Berkshire Bunnies is an ARBA registered rabbitry, and also a member of the HLRSC.
Our main focus is on raising quality, purebred Holland Lops and Mini Plush Lops for pets & therapy/ESA animals. Because our bunnies are from top show lines and we breed to the SOP, we often have showable/show quality individuals available as well.
Our rabbits are viewed as a part of our family, receiving individual attention and gentle handling.
They are healthy, absolutely beautiful, and have the best temperaments! Our herd is small(about 25 adults) and each member that stays is carefully selected for a calm, friendly personality and good breed type.
Breeds we raise: Holland Lops & Mini Plush Lops. They are dwarf breeds, averaging 2- 4 pounds.
*Mini Plush Lops are low shedding and considered hypoallergenic!😊
Colors we produce regularly: vienna marked(vm) with blue eyes or brown/marbled eyes, BEW(blue eyed white), magpie, frosty, chinchilla, harlequin, orange, cream, blue tort, tort, blue, black, WE(white ear), chestnut, chocolate, lilac, tri color, and broken pattern(white with a varying blanket of color).
***Our main project is show line blue eyed white/vienna marked Holland Lops, free of chocolate/shaded colors in the lineage. This is because we want to preserve those beautiful, bright blue eyes. (Chocolate & sable messes up the eye color giving it a purple/red cast.)
We are proud to be working towards showing our blue eyed white(BEW) Holland Lops.💙***
All are bred to their respective breed SOP(Standard of Perfection) for type. Quality, health, and temperament over color - always!
Our bunnies are raised with much love and care. They are hand raised, which means that we start handling them from day one, and we continue this daily until they leave for their new homes. (Note: throughout their infancy, they remain with their mother who feeds and nurtures them)
Early socialization is so important. This basis is essential for their future as a well adjusted family pet and companion.
They are started on litter box training so they will become excellent house rabbits. Babies also spend time around our family dog.
The goal for every bunny we raise, is to be loved and cherished by their family, and in an indoor home ideally.
The momma bunnies, along with their babies, live in our home. It’s wonderful because we can handle them easily and they are used to the sights and sounds of family life.
The males have a safe area indoors as well, in our large garage area. None of our rabbits live outdoors exposed to extreme weather etc!
Our bunnies eat high quality food and locally sourced timothy hay. They are housed in properly sized, clean enclosures.
They have enrichment toys, and receive regular exercise in a large pen (we have both inside pens & outside pens).
House rabbits make wonderful family pets!
Do your research and remember that a bunny is potentially a 10+ year commitment. Also be ready to completely fall in love with them!💗
We are happy to share our love of these endearing creatures with you all. We pride ourselves on raising quality companions with the best temperaments.
If you are looking for a beautiful, healthy rabbit which has been handled/socialized since birth, you have come to the right place.
Due to bio security concerns, insurance reasons, and the emotional well being of our herd, we are a closed rabbitry. Our bunnies are accustomed to our family members. At any given time there are mothers about to have kits, or nursing their kits etc. It’s stressful for them during these times to have people around who they are not used to seeing and hearing. And so their emotional well being comes first.
This means that we are not open to the public. However, we gladly will meet off-premises for viewing and pick-up/delivery. Thank you for your understanding!
Available rabbits can be reserved with a non-refundable deposit of $50. Bunnies are first made available to the people on the waitlist, then are adopted out on a FCFS(first come, first serve) basis. Regardless, we always try to select the best home & fit for each and every rabbit.
We reserve the right to refuse sale at any point prior to pickup. If we decide to do this after a deposit is received, we will of course refund the deposit.
No rabbits will leave prior to eight weeks of age. Any rabbits needing to go on transport should be closer to 12 weeks of age ideally.
A boarding fee will be charged if rabbits are not picked up within two weeks of ready date.
We do work with several transport companies in case you live far away and would like a bunny from us. Transport stops must be an hour or less from our location. An additional fee may be charged for driving to the stop. We are located in Otis MA 01253.
We will work with these transports:
Hippity Hop Express
Raisin Trails Transport
Pets Across America
Love at Furst Flight, LLC Pet Transport
KDFT
Hooves to Paws Animal Transport LLC
Up North Pet Taxi
We only sell healthy bunnies, and have a 7 day health guarantee.
However, we are not responsible if an accident occurs while the rabbit is not in our care, or if proper care and feeding instructions are not followed in the new home.
* Also, the 7 day health guarantee is not given if rabbits are going on transport. This is because there are too many factors which are out of our control in this case (possible exposure to sick rabbits on transport, shipping stress, etc).
Each bunny goes home with a baggy of transition food, a bag of hay, bonding treats, a personalized birth certificate, and a copy of our Bunny Care Guide in pdf form.
Pedigree paperwork will only be given if needed to an *approved breeder*, and if deemed appropriate for the individual rabbit.
An additional fee applies to pedigree paperwork being issued.
We always recommend neutering and spaying for our bunnies going to pet homes. Please refer to the "Rabbit Care info" album for information on this and more!]
We have litters all year round, so please private message or email us with interest.
It’s recommended to join the deposit waitlist, as all bunnies up for reservation are first made available to the waitlist.
🐰Somebunny loves you at Berkshire Bunnies!🐇
